Their passion will consume everything—and everyone— in its path. I'm on a train. I don't know which stop I got on at; I only know the train is going fast and the world outside becomes a blur. I should get off, but I don't. The universe is playing a cosmic joke on me.
Publisher’s Weekly-Even readers who usually disdain infidelity stories will be pulled in by Elisabeth and Will’s intense affair. Agent: Laura Bradford, Bradford Literary Agency. (Sept.)
Hart plunges into the mainstream fiction genre with this haunting, devastating, heart-wrenching tale. This story will stay with you long after you reach the last page." -Romantic Times
"Megan Hart is easily one of the most talented voices I've encountered." -The Romance Reader
[Hart] writes erotica for grown-ups [and] holds her characters emotionally accountable, and nowhere is that more evident than in The Space Between Us. This is a quiet book, but it packed a major punch for me...She's a stunning writer, and this is a stunning book."-Super Librarian

Please welcome NYT and USA Today bestselling author Megan Hart to The Reading Frenzy

Megan- tell us a little about Tear You Apart
Hi, everyone! Thanks for having me! Tear You Apart was both one of the hardest and easiest books I’ve ever written. The writing part of it was easy. The words always came when I needed them to be there. But living that story was like putting my heart and soul against a cheese grater every single time I sat down to write. Tempted was the last book to make me feel that way.

Megan what genre shelf should this novel be placed on?
Fiction. Definitely not romance!

At what age do you think it’s proper to start reading erotic fiction?
I was reading erotic material in high school…maybe before I ought to have been! But what age is proper, that’s a tough question. Well written erotic material can teach someone a lot! Bad erotica can leave scars. So it’s hard to say what age is appropriate. It would be different for every person.

And at what age would you let your children read it?
My daughter is 16 and had no interest in reading my erotic books. If she did, I’d rather she read books that I approve of and know the content of, which would be mine! But so far she hasn’t seemed to want to.

People, who know me, know I love Harlequin; I even review two of the series romance for RT Magazine.
Why do you choose to write for Harlequin?
I’ve been so fortunate to be part of the Harlequin family. I’ve been able to write books that I love, stories that speak to me, without being put into a box. I love that.

Megan you write in several genres one being erotic fiction.
Do you think that it’s come out of the paper bag?
Definitely. And hooray!

Megan, according to your bio you fell in love with reading as a young girl after reading Ray Bradbury, but the story didn’t end there.
Can you tell us how you made “improvements” to his novel as you were copying it?
I don’t remember all the details, but I think I added characters and changed dialogue. I loved his story, but I also wanted to write my own.

Do you have a favorite genre to write?
I love all the genres in which I write!

When you put one genre to bed and pick up the next one do you change personally when you switch?
I don’t think so, but I’m probably not the best judge of that. One thing I will say is that personally, I’m not continuously morose or gloomy, yet my books are most often dark in tone or deal with tough subjects. So that’s sometimes interesting!

Megan, you’ve published many novels and short stories.
Does release day excite you the same way it did the first time?
I barely remember release days. I’m the worst! I’m always excited to have a new book out, but the actual day of it, I’m usually like, “Oh, yeah, hey, there it is!”

Megan can you tell us a funny/weird author event/signing story?
I wish I had one, but everyone I meet is so nice that fortunately, I don’t have any weird stories to tell. I do sometimes tell people to come and sit on my lap, and then they do. That’s always funny!

Megan thanks for taking the time to answer my questions. Good luck with this novel and all your endeavors.
Will there be any events where fans could meet you in person?
Later in September I’ll be at the Baltimore Book Festival Sept. 27 and 28.

  1. I am happy it is. You should never have to suppress your sexuality or what you like to read or write no matter what it is. I always thought it was ridiculous that a guy can look at playboy but if a woman reads erotica she could get looked at weird.
Thanks for the giveaway. Love the blog. :)

  2. I'm really happy that erotica is out of the bag. No one should be ashamed for reading/writing and enjoying erotica. I really don't care what you read/write, as long as you enjoy it. Thanks for the giveaway!
