Overview:
DANGEROUS CURVES AHEAD
Ellis Garrett is dumping her critical boyfriend, opening a plus-size clothing store, and starting a blog—all to spread the word that fashion shouldn’t require a size-two body, and happiness should allow for the occasional cupcake. Or two.

Overview:
Full of warmth, wit, and voluptuous romance, the Perfect Fit series embraces the holiday spirit with an exclusive new novella--Have Yourself a Curvy Little Christmas!
On the first day of Christmas, former wild child Dina Gregory returns home to New York on a mission: To find the father of her young son. Making him take responsibility for the child he helped create is the only thing on Dina’s wish list.

Sugar welcome to The Reading Frenzy

Tell us about your, The Perfect Fit series.
Thanks for having me! My Perfect Fit series features curvy/ plus size women who find love while running a boutique for hard to fit women.

How many novels will there be?
There are three novels and one novella.

How are the novels connected?
All the books are connected. Ellis and her friends are a close knit group.

Sugar what’s the very best thing about being an author?
That’s a hard question. There is so much I love about writing in general. But I think it’s the emails I get from fans. One woman told me that she had been in a verbally abusive relationship with her boyfriend and because of Dangerous Curves Ahead she realized that she could move on and find happiness without him. She said that Ellis made her realize that she was beautiful again. I was floored by her email. It will always stay with me. I don’t think writers realize that they have that kind of impact on readers.

I love your description of yourself from your website; “a southern belle trapped in a New Yorker’s body”
Tell my readers why that describes you.
Parts of me will always be a diehard New Yorker, but other parts of me just don’t fit in the place I was born and raised. I love dresses, colorful girly dresses. And big hair.  (The bigger the hair, the closer to God.)I love heat and am one of those rare people who doesn’t mind humidity. I love the food. I’d much rather eat macaroni and cheese than a duck egg. And most importantly I love how nice Southerns are. Everybody greets you and treats you like you are a part of their family. Life down south is just slower. I would like that sometimes. That being said, I’m not sure I could leave the north behind just yet.

Sugar when and how did the writing bug bite?
I’ve always been a daydreamer, but it was after reading BET ME by Jennifer Crusie for the second time did I decide that I wanted to be a writer. I was twenty-one at the time and a senior in college. I’ve always had a deep love for romance novels and thought I could write one. It turns out it wasn’t as easy as I thought.

Was your road to success a long and winding one or are you an overnight success?
In hindsight my road wasn’t as bumpy as others. I started writing at twenty-one. By twenty-three I hade my first incredibly long messy manuscript written. At twenty-five I found the RWA and Kristan Higgins who encouraged me to join my local chapter. By twenty-six I had and agent and a three book deal with St. Martin’s Press. And at 28 I got to see my book in a book store. Of course there were dozens of rejections along the way and a couple of practice manuscripts that will never see the light of day. I had an agent rip my book to shreds and in the process steal my confidence but I’m here now. And I’m glad I went on my journey, because I learned so much in the process.

Thanks Sugar for answering my questions.
