Welcome to my stop on the Independently Wealthy blog tour. I've got a great interview with author Lorraine Zago Rosenthal.

Tell my readers a bit about Independently Wealthy.

In NEW MONEY, Savannah Morgan was thrust into
high-society New York when she learned she was the sole heir to her father’s
billion-dollar fortune. In INDEPENDENTLY WEALTHY, she is living her dream life
on the Upper West Side, excelling at her job as an editorial assistant, and
enjoying her handsome new boyfriend, Alex.
Everything in Savannah’s life should be perfect—but she
can’t ignore the questions and scandal surrounding her father’s fatal accident.
Her hopes of solving this mystery are shared by Caroline Stone—her newfound
sister who is slowly becoming a friend. Savannah decides to investigate,
although not everyone wants her to discover the truth. Her domineering older
brother, Ned, has his own problems, including a lingering regret over his
recent divorce, the constant pressure of running the Stone media empire, and
managing a playboy bachelorhood. As Savannah's quest for justice becomes
complicated and dangerous, she is led to Washington, D.C.; an alluring stranger;
and more surprises, trouble, and changes than she ever could have imagined.
And because we’re in the holiday season, I want to
mention that a big part of INDEPENDENTLY WEALTHY is, too! The novel begins just

Lorraine I’ve noticed you’ve labeled these NA (new
What do you think of this new genre?
About time, or just another useless marketing ploy?
The genre of NEW
MONEY and INDEPENDENTLY WEALTHY is a cross between Adult Contemporary fiction
and New Adult. The main character, Savannah, is twenty-four—so she fits in the
New Adult age range—and the story does involve her romantic life, but it also
deals with many other issues and includes a mystery.
I think the NA
genre is fabulous! It certainly fills a void. There are so many story ideas to
explore within the NA age range, and there is an audience who can relate to and
wants to read these stories. Although NA began as mainly romance-focused, I’m
very excited to see it evolving to include other situations and issues. Every age has its own joys and troubles, and
they should all have a place in fiction. I am eager to see where this genre

written about TV and film, in the form of reviews (however, I am not currently
doing so). I would love to write for TV and/or film, though—if I had the
chance! I became interested in this form of media at a very young age—about the
same time I started reading. So I would say that my passion for TV, film, and
literature began simultaneously.
Lorraine you’re pretty connected with social media
Are you a social media lover, or do you use it because you have to?
I think social
media is great. It has allowed me to connect with my readers, who are amazing!
It is always such a pleasure to hear from them. I am contacted most frequently
by readers of my first book, OTHER WORDS FOR LOVE, which is a YA novel that was
published in 2011 and takes place during the 1980s. Many readers have told me that they relate deeply
to the main character and that her story is helpful and meaningful to them. That’s so
rewarding for an author to hear!
You’re a TV and film buff too.

could list so many, but I’ll narrow it down to THE GODFATHER. It’s a classic
that deserves its accolades. And one of my guilty pleasures is SWEET HOME
ALABAMA. Every time it’s on TV, I can’t resist watching again!

What’s next – Disney World? …:)
I plan to enjoy the holidays and the release of INDEPENDENTLY WEALTHY. And of
course, I will keep writing!
What book is on your nightstand right now?
have a couple of celebrity biographies waiting for me. I really enjoy reading
about people’s lives, because truth can be just as fascinating as fiction!
Lorraine thanks so much for chatting with me today.
Good luck with your new release!

thanks for your good wishes!
don’t currently have any signing/author events listed, but I will add links to
