<span class="formatted"><i>July 1995</i>. April and Eddie have taken a wrong
turn. They’re looking for the small resort town where they plan to spend their
honeymoon. When they spot what appears to a lone hitchhiker along the deserted
road, they stop to help. But not long after the hitchiker gets into their car,
they see the blood seeping from her jacket and a truck barreling down Atticus
Line after them.</span><br />

<span class="formatted">When the hitchhiker dies at the local hospital, April and
Eddie find themselves in the crosshairs of the Coldlake Falls police.
Unexplained murders have been happening along Atticus Line for years and the
cops finally have two witnesses who easily become their only suspects. As April
and Eddie start to dig into the history of the town and that horrible stretch
of road to clear their names, they soon learn that there is something
supernatural at work, something that could not only tear the town and its dark
secrets apart, but take April and Eddie down with it all.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span class="formatted"> </span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEiQYQayOb7paKyq3CtRw0dgNa59H2F22qx9JVaz8hBHYSnez8x_wOkg6OIg_L-VN4_pf0oKVdRC31bVljlxgIctpU3QPYeAHxZ3f0flWXLwZoDXyCKHIfCn56I0eEpaMrJJC0V_F9xpjCHZ2Xm4ULL27VSLXOT4EhCbPIFfR_q-6E-Gh7eoW2eCvwFh3V8" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="300" data-original-width="970" height="198" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEiQYQayOb7paKyq3CtRw0dgNa59H2F22qx9JVaz8hBHYSnez8x_wOkg6OIg_L-VN4_pf0oKVdRC31bVljlxgIctpU3QPYeAHxZ3f0flWXLwZoDXyCKHIfCn56I0eEpaMrJJC0V_F9xpjCHZ2Xm4ULL27VSLXOT4EhCbPIFfR_q-6E-Gh7eoW2eCvwFh3V8=w640-h198" width="640" /></a></div><span><a name='more'></a></span><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><p></p><h4 style="text-align: left;"><span class="formatted">Sophia Rose's Review:</span></h4><p class="MsoNormal"><span class="formatted">An inexplicable event crashes a

captivated me once again with a hair-raising atmospheric thriller set in a
rural area of western Michigan.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span class="formatted"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span class="formatted">Murder Road introduces a young pair of

pretty good for the crime, April and Eddy launch their own investigation and

casualty ‘The Lost Girl’. They encounter
colorful local characters in the wacky conspiracy proposing teenage, Snell
Sisters and dear landlady, Rose who was obsessed with Princess Di (the story
occurs in the mid-nineties) who lightened this spooky tale. The backdrop of the nineties and this resort
area of Michigan were well drawn.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span class="formatted"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span class="formatted">I love how April and Eddy are complex
characters with rough edges which would get them arrested if the police dig
enough into their individual situations and there is a darker tone as they try
to gather facts with past occurrences and the present. April is the sole narrator of the story. I couldn’t figure out why the police were so
fixated on strangers as chief suspects particularly after the past history of
that road came out, but then again, strangers are easier to swallow rather than
the knowledge its someone local.
Speaking of locals, that small town and the residents including the
police working there are as suspicious and odd as all get out. Poor April and Eddy have landed into a
nightmare especially when April is drawn to dangerous Atticus Line.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span class="formatted"> </span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span class="formatted">Like previous reads from Simone St.

<span class="formatted">Lord Rosemorran has purchased a wax figure of a beautiful
reclining woman and asks Stoker to incorporate a clockwork mechanism to give
the Rosemorran Collection its own Sleeping Beauty in the style of Madame
Tussaud’s. But when Stoker goes to cut the mannequin open to insert the
mechanism, he makes a gruesome discovery: this is no wax figure. The mannequin
is the beautifully preserved body of a young woman who was once very much
alive. But who would do such a dreadful thing, and why? </span><br />

investigation into the unknown. Through it all, the intrepid pair is always one

whiffs of Frankenstein to it, A Grave Robbery has the detecting pair learning
about the anatomically correct wax figures used by medical students or in a

After assigning her college students a project designed to nudge them outside their comfort zones, Olive realizes she’s never once stepped a toe out of her own . . . and it’s about time that changed. Her first trip into the unknown? Moving in with her longtime crush and friend . . . tattooed, motorcycle-riding, and pleasantly pierced Baxter Donovan.<br /><br />Bax Donovan, Guardian Angel not-so-extraordinaire, has acquired so many black marks on his record it looks like a Scantron test. He’s been given one last chance to keep his Guardian wings―a high-profile Assignment he knows all too well. Olive is usually as low-risk as it gets. Hell, she wrote the safety manual. But something landed her on the Guardian Angel Affairs radar, and he guesses it has something to do with the heart-pounding stunts she’s determined to check off her Dare I Docket list.<br /><br />Keeping Olive out of trouble is about to be his toughest Assignment. He’s at real risk of shattering the only Guardian Angel code of conduct rule he’s yet to break: Don’t fall in love with your Assignment. And he isn’t so sure that’s a bad thing.<br /><br />If love doesn’t play by the rules, why should they?<span><a name='more'></a></span><span></span><div><p><b><br /></b></p></div>

<p class="MsoNormal"><i>Not Your Crush’s Cauldron, </i>book 3 in April Asher’s
Supernatural Singles series is a hoot, all about testing your limits and going
outside your comfort zone and of course finding real happiness. And was one I
couldn’t wait to read because I fell in love with Olive and Bax through the previous
books and knew their story would be worth the wait. I was not disappointed.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Olive Maxwell is a witch who likes coloring inside the box
and not one who likes to take risks so when she assigns her students to do just
that she decides it’s time to start practicing what she preaches. Now she just
has to choose a partner to take this wild ride with and she’s got just the
tatted, sexy Guardian Angel that she’s crushed on for ages in mind and oh did
she mention he’s also her roomie.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Baxter Donovan once again is in the Guardian angel doghouse
and needs to nail his next job, that is until he learns that his next job is
being a Guardian Angel to who just happens to be a witch who stars in most of
his erotic dreams and sleeps just down the hall.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">It was so much fun seeing these two characters dance around
each other, tiptoeing into a relationship full of missteps, hot sex and
learning to fight for what they want whether or not its what’s expected of them.
And it was also fun playing catchup to all the stars of the previous books in
the series. <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">April keeps it fast paced and a fun read while at the same
time dealing with real life and paranormal issues and she has a lot to deal
with; Grandma Edie has gone missing just days before Vi takes over as Prima
over the entire supernatural community leaving the Maxwell triplets, their
significant others and Harper the demon succubus sister of their heart to make
everything right and Olive has to figure out how to complete this assignment
while not drooling over her wingman.<br />
Fans of this author, this series and fun paranormal rom-com will love this novel.
The series can be read out of order but makes better sense when read as
written.<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;"><b>The Series</b></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;"></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgs1YNYLCy0tW_LHNSIBo91vkmWDDNOUIH0-ewANoY6j1_B7BNgH4W0Re3S55GN-bLz6oZZwj2kxDwJtwjUXv23-GUpWpNXcxAjgq7ZMrRgyEDmLJRsOlh_pNH1L7Gxcg_k9th_o5HI_T9IU4rtkLeof-rPZmXhVp5U1jmu3wUbZWDRllqM2OK6nlZ3Soc/s474/Screenshot%202024-03-05%20194549.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="223" data-original-width="474" height="151" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgs1YNYLCy0tW_LHNSIBo91vkmWDDNOUIH0-ewANoY6j1_B7BNgH4W0Re3S55GN-bLz6oZZwj2kxDwJtwjUXv23-GUpWpNXcxAjgq7ZMrRgyEDmLJRsOlh_pNH1L7Gxcg_k9th_o5HI_T9IU4rtkLeof-rPZmXhVp5U1jmu3wUbZWDRllqM2OK6nlZ3Soc/s320/Screenshot%202024-03-05%20194549.png" width="320" /></a></div><br /><b><br /></b><p></p><p class="MsoNormal"><br /></p>

She now lives out her own happily-ever-after with her college-sweetheart husband, their two children, and a cat who thinks she's more dog—and human—than feline. By day, April dons dark blue nursing scrubs and drinks way too much caffeine. By night, she still consumes too much caffeine, but she does it with a laptop in hand, and from her favorite side of the couch.<p></p>From the far left cushion, April Asher pens laugh-out-loud romantic comedies with a paranormal twist, but when she’s not putting her characters into embarrassing situations with supernatural entities, she also writes high-octane romantic suspense as April Hunt, her thrill-seeking alter ego.</div>The Reading Frenzyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17908245479700999445noreply@blogger.com6
