Goodreads Synopsis:

Everyone calls Mariah Smith the Judge. No, she doesn't wear a black robe or sit on a bench. She provides a unique service to those who have been wronged. She's an expert in paybacks both psychic and magical.

Mariah's next target is the famous supermodel Fabian. Smoking hot body, the face of an Italian sinner and dumb as a rock. His crime? Sticky fingers. The man whore makes millions of dollars a year, but can't resist seducing elderly women out of their jewelry? How does she resist all that tanned, male perfection and unmask Fabian as the gigolo he truly is?

Mariah soon discovers Mister Sticky fingers isn't quite as dim-witted as he acts. He's actually the Dragos clan's top demon hunter who is stealing back magical artifacts that open gateways to hell. Now that she's attracted Fabian's attention, he's determined to possess her and her magical abilities.

Sophia Rose's Review:

A woman with cunning, determination, and packing some serious witch magic heat is on a job to retrieve a client’s stolen item, but the thief is slick and from a rival psychic clan.  All hell breaks loose.  Literally.  Gail Koger hooked me in with her hilarious alien romances and I learned to love her paranormals and romantic suspenses just as much.  I’m happy to finally get to this older book from her backlist.

Catching Dragos is a standalone, but second in The Dragos Clan series paranormal romance world.

Mariah Smith was born into a powerful family of witches who are strong demon hunters.  When her mom fell in love with her dad, a human cop, Mariah was meant to follow in her mom’s and grandmother’s demon hunting career footsteps.  But, when her mom was taken from them, her dad took her away from it all and raised her in the human world.

Then, a dirty cop tried to cover his criminal activity and nearly killed her dad.  Mariah used her talents and determination for justice to exact a fitting and terrible revenge.  Others noticed her ability to get the gritty work done and she got a nickname ‘the judge’ and a new career which her dad didn’t exactly approve of.  This led to her current situation of tracking down a hot young guy who charmed old ladies out of their wealth.  He’d also lifted a magical medallion of her client.  He’s dumb and this job will be easy, she thought…

Let the mayhem and hijinks begin.

Catching Dragos is a standalone story, but I came to it already a little familiar with the Dragos clan as it has some crossover with the Coletti Warlords’ sci-fi series in that a few psychic Dragos characters were present.

I was glad to go back for this older book in Gail Koger’s backlist.  It was full of the frantic, slap-stick fun that is signature to all her books.  I laughed and had a romp of a good time reading Mariah’s demon hunting adventures and steamy romance with a daring, larcenous Dragos.  Not your average paranormal romance, for sure.

Author Bio:

I was a 9-1-1 dispatcher for thirty-one years and to keep insanity at bay, I took up writing. Not to worry. The insanity isn’t catching – much. Other than the addiction to chocolate and the twitch in my left eye, I’m good. I’ve had my weird but true stories published in newspapers and magazines.

Sophia’s Bio:

Sophia is a quiet though curious gal who dabbles in cooking, book reviewing, piano-playing, and gardening. Road trips and campouts, museums and monuments, restaurants and theaters are her jam. Encouraged and supported by an incredible man and loving family. A Northern Californian transplant to the Great Lakes Region of the US. Lover of Jane Austen, Baseball, Cats, Scooby Doo, and Chocolate.

As a lifelong reader, it was inevitable that Sophia would discover book blogs and the joy of blog reviewing. Sophia is a prolific reader and audiobook listener which allows her to experience so many wonderful books, authors, and narrators. Few genres are outside her reading tastes, but her true love is fiction particularly history, mystery, sci-fi, and romance. Though, sorry, no horror or she will run like Shaggy and Scooby.

    1. Oh yeah, she's got a few standalones and shorter PNR series. Then a fun comedy rom suspense series about a female sheriff's deputy. And, then of course, her long-standing Coletti Warlords sci-fi romcoms. Screwball comedy and steamy romance for the win! :)
