GoodReads Synopsis:

Just call me Calamity Jane, wherever I go, trouble soon follows. Which makes my job as a Maricopa County Sheriff’s Deputy a bit hazardous. From chasing down a bank robber to dealing with a cat burglar or handling Sun City’s seniors who are crazy as June bugs and horny as hell. My personal life is complicated. Off duty I’m a ballroom dancer. Detective Sergeant Dante Delgado is my new dance partner. My relationship with him puts me in the crosshairs of a dirty cop with homicidal tendencies. Can we stop him, or will we become his next victims? Law enforcement isn’t for the fainthearted. Are you brave enough to enter my world?

Author’s I was a 9-1-1 dispatcher for way too many years and this novella contains some of the wilder incidents that occurred.

Sophia Rose's Review:

Gemma Jones smashed into my life with her deputy capers in Stilettos and Sniper Rifles.  I could not wait for the next installment in her law enforcing adventures, SWAT For Dummies and my anticipation was amply rewarded.

SWAT For Dummies is the second entry in the Deputy Gemma Jones blend of comedy and romantic suspense.  This could be well appreciated out of order or standalone, but why miss the first encounter of Gemma with Dante or the seniors on Viagra and definitely not to be missed is her ride or die best bud, her tireless sergeant or her quirky, capable family.

In SWAT For Dummies, Gemma’s regular patrol day is interrupted when she realizes something hinky is going on within the Sheriff’s Dept and it has a connection to her new boyfriend, Dante’s past- the unsolved murder of his folks.  Between 911 response calls that have her tangling with the crazy citizens and even nuttier pets, Gemma and her posse must stop the corruption.

The mayhem and hijinks are laugh out loud funny and even more so knowing Gail Koger was basing the call outs on many real and wacky 911 calls.  Dante’s sultry dancing leaves me needing a tall glass of ice water.  And, the overall fun and entertainment of Gemma’s law enforcement adventures are the spice of life and left me impatient for book three.

Author Bio:

I was a 9-1-1 dispatcher for thirty-one years and to keep insanity at bay, I took up writing. Not to worry. The insanity isn’t catching – much. Other than the addiction to chocolate and the twitch in my left eye, I’m good. I’ve had my weird but true stories published in newspapers and magazines.
