GoodReads Synopsis:
More than friends?
Maybe by Valentine's Day!
Shy Kitty Crawley never got over her crush on former
bronc champ Tyson Ellis. She’s always been his pal and “my buddy’s shy little
sis” and that’s just dandy. Mostly. But now that Tyson’s temporarily the guardian of two little
girls—and in way over his cowboy hat—they’re finding more ways to bond.
Suddenly Kitty’s cowboy crush is in danger of growing into something else. And
with Valentine’s Day just around the corner, there’s no escaping Cupid…or the
bronc rider she’s falling for.
A Cowboys of Garrison, Texas Story
Sophia Rose's Review:
A crush on her older brother’s friend has gone unnoticed and every
encounter feels awkward for her, but then another cowboy, a sweetheart cluster
of little girls, interfering family, and a Valentine’s rodeo and dance might be
just what a shy, kind-hearted woman needs for Cupid to pick her at last.
Sasha Summers and her Cowboys of Garrison, Texas series are all new to
me, but a Valentine-themed cowboy romance seemed just the thing.
My
Cowboy Cupid is the fifth book in a series of standalone heartwarming contemporary
cowboy romances. The heroine’s older
brother got his story in book two, but this was easily read out of order.
Kitty is shy and very, very awkward which has made it painful that many
of her encounters with her childhood crush occur when she’s not at her best. She is determined to get over her shyness and
loving feelings for a man who has closed himself off to love.
Tyson has always associated Kitty as his friend’s sister. Now, he sees her as the sweet girl who goes
unnoticed even while she is caring for and looking after everyone about her
including her curmudgeon dad and now him with his energetic nieces. Love is not in the books for him after first
his mom then ex-wife abandoned him. But,
Kitty gets noticed by another man and it takes Tyson a bit to figure out why he
doesn’t like it.
I loved this good-natured and good-hearted pair whose lives are full with
their work, their families, and their friends.
Both are lonely, but have missed out on finding that special someone for
different reasons. Their romance isn’t
in isolation- the surrounding cast of friends and family, the small town in
ranch country, the kids, and the activities leading up to the Valentine-themed
rodeo.
But… yes, it wasn’t a perfect ride for me. It took a long time for both people to figure
out their romance. There were some cute
and even funny awkward moments and they share a strong history of close friends
and neighbors, but it just seemed to be a long string of everyday stuff not
even together so I felt I was waiting for some forward action in their romance.
All in all, this was exactly what it presented as a Harlequin
Heartwarming holiday cowboy romance story and it was sweet, cute, and full of
family and friends supporting a friends to lovers romance. I want to at least go back for Kitty’s
brother Jensen’s story and try others in the series. Now that I’m adjusted to the gentle plot and
pacing, I think I’d do better.
Recommended to sweet cowboy romance fans!
