Those who follow my reviews know that I started my Orphan X experience with book #6 Prodigal Son and was so impressed that I went back to the beginning. I've been eating up all the novels in the past while indulging in a new release when they come out too. This is my Brilliance Audio review of #4 Out of The Dark.
See what made this one of my all time faves
Enjoy!

*AN INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER*
"This novel will be remembered as one of the best thrillers of the year." --Associated Press
"A shocking stunner in every way. The perfect thriller." --Robert Crais
When darkness closes in - he's your last, best hope. Evan Smoak returns in Gregg Hurwitz’s #1 international bestselling Orphan X series in Out of the Dark.
Taken from a group home at age twelve, Evan Smoak was raised and trained as part of the Orphan Program, an off-the-books operation designed to create deniable intelligence assets - i.e. assassins. Evan was Orphan X. He broke with the Program, using everything he learned to disappear and reinvent himself as the Nowhere Man, a man who helps the truly desperate when no one else can. But now Evan's past is catching up to him.
Someone at the very highest level of government has been trying to eliminate every trace of the Orphan Program by killing all the remaining Orphans and their trainers. After Evan's mentor and the only father he ever knew was killed, he decided to strike back. His target is the man who started the Program and who is now the most heavily guarded person in the world: the President of the United States.
But President Bennett knows that Orphan X is after him and, using weapons of his own, he's decided to counter-attack. Bennett activates the one man who has the skills and experience to track down and take out Orphan X - the first recruit of the Program, Orphan A.
With Evan devoting all his skills, resources, and intelligence to find a way through the layers of security that surround the President, suddenly he also has to protect himself against the deadliest of opponents. It's Orphan vs. Orphan with the future of the country - even the world - on the line.

My Brilliance Audio Review:
Out of The Dark
Orphan X book #4
Gregg Hurwitz
Out of the Dark book 4 in Gregg Hurwitz’s explosive
Orphan X series is one of the most terrifying novels I’ve ever read, and this
series is full of jaw-dropping, heart-thumping, adrenaline filled pages but
there’s just something especially hair-raising when the President of the United
States is the villain, ordering assassinations of his own people. And this
novel is also special because Orphan V aka Candy McClure and Orphan dropout and
last recruit Joey Morales play major roles in this installment making Evan more
vulnerable and more human realizing he needs his albeit small village to
complete this impossible mission. Plus this is the first time we meet one of
his legitimate nemeses Secret Service agent Naomi Templeton. From page
one until the daunting end of this fast-paced, nail-biting novel readers will
get non-stop death and destruction, actions and scenes that are almost beyond
conceivability but that will leave them breathless and reaching for book 5.
Fans of this super series will stay up until the wee hours to finish this
absolutely unputdownable novel.
Narration:
Scott Brick is as always what makes listening to this series the best way to
experience it. His soft spoken performance brings every sentence and every
scene to life for the listening audience. He is Evan Smoak and expertly changes
personas for every player in the novel.
There’s only one thing to do when the most powerful man on
earth is trying to kill you, kill him first. It seems the current President and
once leader of the Department of Defense and head of the black ops Orphan
project is trying to wipe all the evidence of the project off the face of the
earth by eliminating all the ex-orphans. But POTUS went too far when he arranged
Jack Johns’ death, Orphan X’s handler and the man he thought of as a father and
that put the X right between the President’s eyes. When Evan Smoak left Orphan
X behind he became The Nowhere Man a ghost who moves through the world helping
people who have nothing left to loose and nowhere left to turn and he’s got a
client to avenge but he’s also got the President to kill and he is realizing he
might not be able to handle it all alone, but who does a man who works alone
turn to and who he can trust when he needs help.
