GoodReads Synopsis:
Perihelion and its crew embark on a dangerous new mission at a corporate-controlled station in the throes of a hostile takeover...
Sophia Rose's Review:
The Murderbot Diaries world is expanding to include several new characters and I was delighted to get a short story from Iris' point of view and time with her, her crew, and A.R.T. on a mission adventure.
Rapport: Friendship, Solidarity, Communion, Empathy is #7.5 in the Murderbot Diary series, but chronologically takes place just after the events of #2 Artificial Condition though it has more depth when read following the events of System Collapse after these characters are introduced and developed.
Rapport picks up with A.R.T.'s crew and some scholars on a mission to a Corporate Rim Station to investigate some artifacts a section of the station rumored to be Pre-Corporate Rim.
There is always danger when entering the CR for a mission and this is no exception. Iris needs to be on her game, but she's distracted. Something's been up with Peri since he came back from his last solo mission.
Rapport is short, but it is mighty. I loved the further insight into the Corporates from Iris' perspective, seeing her and the crew on one of the missions ART told SecUnit about, getting ART’s perspective on meeting SecUnit, and also seeing from the inside the relationship between Iris and ART. A fabulous interlude in the grand story arc.

Sophia’s Bio:
Sophia is a quiet though curious gal who dabbles in cooking, book reviewing, piano-playing, and gardening. Road trips and campouts, museums and monuments, restaurants and theaters are her jam. Encouraged and supported by an incredible man and loving family. A Northern Californian transplant to the Great Lakes Region of the US. Lover of Jane Austen, Baseball, Cats, Scooby Doo, and Chocolate.
As a lifelong reader, it was inevitable that Sophia would discover book blogs and the joy of blog reviewing. Sophia is a prolific reader and audiobook listener which allows her to experience so many wonderful books, authors, and narrators. Few genres are outside her reading tastes, but her true love is fiction particularly history, mystery, sci-fi, and romance. Though, sorry, no horror or she will run like Shaggy and Scooby.
