GoodReads Synopsis:
I've said it before, but sometimes I'm a bad person. I cheated on my twelfth grade math final, I've run countless yellow lights, and I gossip about how hot my kickass best friends are. (Good thing my job as a guild bartender doesn't require moral perfection.)
But there's bad, and then there's bad. And I'm not sure which applies to a certain dark druid/wanted criminal/reluctant friend of mine. His transgressions include black-magic dealings, kidnapping, and murder, and he's about to add "revenge-fueled killing spree" to his resume—if I don't stop him.
Should I stop him?
He and his nemesis are gearing up to tear each other apart, rogues and vultures are converging with their sights on the spoils, and the guilds that would normally stomp them into the ground are under attack. We're on the brink of an all-out criminal turf war, and my time to decide is almost up.
Who's the real bad guy ... and do I dare stand in his way?
Sophia Rose's Review:
There is an ominous silence in Vancouver’s magical criminal community and its making the Crow and Hammer guild uneasy because something dangerous is going to fill that vacuum. Meanwhile, Tori gets a desperate request from the fae companion of a certain dark druid to come to his rescue. The Spellbound urban fantasy series continues to delve deeper and more desperate as Tori and the guys are up against several challenges and the clock is ticking down on her chance to save Ezra.
Druid Vices and Vodka is the sixth in a tightly connected urban fantasy Spellbound series that is the tenth entry in the broader Guild Codex Universe.
As I said, there are a lot of challenges for Tori in this one and she has grown so much throughout the series so she is ready to face what is to come though she is still the same vulnerable, but willing and stubborn heroine. She’s called upon to rescue the dark druid with Kai’s help which gets him back on the radar with his criminal organizational family guild. Meanwhile Zach the Druid’s revival an evil sorceress is taking on the Yamada hold on Vancouver and taking down guilds as she goes. But, the biggest strain on Tori is knowing that she has to somehow find the answer to keep Ezra from dying when his demon takes over. This has her crossing paths on her search with the guild’s mysterious new member, Robin Page, and her demon.
So much is winding tighter and the big confrontation in this one is gritty and shocking. Druid Vices and Vodka finishes off one of the main troubles Tori and her guild family were facing dealt with, but is driving forward right into the next book in the series and I can’t wait.
