Harlequin's Feel Good Project Announces the 2019 Creator Fund Recipients
New York, Toronto, October 3, 2019 - Harlequin, a leading publisher of commercial fiction and narrative nonfiction, is proud to announce the first recipients of the Creator Fund. The four projects selected include both a television and movie treatment and two novels. Harlequin started the Creator Fund to attract and support female writers who tell feel-good stories with a unique point of view.
“The selected Creator Fund recipients add to Harlequin’s seventy-year history of publishing female storytellers. We’re excited to shine a light on their stories and reach new readers and viewers who love feel-good entertainment,” shares Merjane Schoueri, Feel Good Project Director.
More than three hundred entries from across the US and Canada were reviewed by our panel of judges that included Entertainment One’s Isabel Gomez-Moriana, Director, Scripted Development, Television, Canada and Chris Bell, Vice President, Scripted Development, Television, Canada as well as, Ted Ellis, President of Creator, and Harlequin executives Loriana Sacilotto, Executive Vice President and Publisher, Harlequin Trade Publishing, and Brent Lewis, Executive Vice President and Publisher, Harlequin Brand Group. The four recipients will receive financial support in addition to editorial mentorship.
