Returning home to Cannon Beach and living in Brambleberry House, a place where good things seemed destined to happen, had brought Melissa Fielding and her young daughter such joy. My Review:

The Colonel’s Texas Promise
Caro Carson
Carson’s latest SE American Heroes novel is all that and more a sweet friend to lover saga that spans more than a decade starring an unforgettable dynamic duo who are both the real deal and heroes to boot plus an adorable young dynamo who is valiantly trying to navigate the ever-changing obstacles of being an Army brat and having divorced parents.
The story moves at warp speed thanks to minimal drama, engaging characters and a solid plot and seeing Evan and Juliet reconnect, rekindle their friendship and ignite their passion is awesome, and being front and center for the birth of a new family is heartwarming.
Sixteen years ago before they reported for Army active duty bff college friends Evan Stephens and Juliet Grayson made a deal; if they were still single when the reached the rank of Lieutenant Colonel they’d marry each other.
Sixteen years later Lt. Colonel Juliet Grayson arrives at Fort Hood Texas and seeks out fellow Lt. Colonel Evan Stephens to collect on that marriage pact. What she doesn't expect is Evan’s immediate willingness to marry her especially when he knows she and her eleven-year-old son are a package deal.
Evan can’t believe his luck when his dream girl walks into his office shows him her Lt. Colonel insignia and says she’s ready to walk down the isle especially when all these years he believed she was happily married to someone else. Now he just needs to get her to the altar before she can change her mind.
