My Review:

Their Last Second Chance
Shirley Jump
Stone Gap Inn series

Shirley Jump takes readers back to laid back Stone Gap NC with a story that shows how a lifetime of lying almost prevents a much deserved second chance at a Happy Ever After.

Second chance romances are one of my favorites because of all the history there is between the stars and Their Last Second Chance hits all the marks for being a good one, and Shirley has a fantastic way of bringing the reader right into the story. The couple is likeable and genuine and although readers may want to throw something at each of them several times during the story they pull at heartstrings. The setting is fantastic, small town, with busybody secondary characters and getting a good dose of series character catch ups. But the real stand out in this story is the complicated family drama, sisters and mothers and daughters, complicated and real. Perfect for that late summer read!

Abby Cooper is in this bucolic NC town for her big sister’s wedding carrying a lot of baggage and not of the luggage variety. She just needs to get through this couple of weeks without anyone finding out that her perfect life and marriage is really a house of cards that came falling down. And to add to the drama the boy who broke her heart into pieces is in town all grown up and sexy as all get out.

Making restitution for the wrongs he’s caused and lives he’s ruined has become Harris McCarthy’s reason to live and he’s happy to help this latest family as long as the fact that he’s the benefactor stays on the down low. But when his first love who’s now big time journalist comes to town he’s got double worries; how to keep her from scooping this story and how to keep his heart safe from her a second time.

That's it for now but be sure and stop by next month for six more down home swoon worthy novels!

  3. I like second chance romances as well. Small town romances are good and when the two are twisted together that's even better.
