Showcase Wanderer by Sarah Leon Other Press
Today I'm showcasing Sarah Leon's debut Wanderer, this was originally published in French by the then 21 year old talented artist and now available in the US translated by John Cullen. I have my copy and can't wait to dig in and I'm sure after reading more about it you will too. And look for my review soon!
Enjoy!
Hermin, a composer and instructor, leads a secluded life near the Bourbonnais Mountains in France, composing an homage to Schubert. On a bitter January night, this studious peace is broken when his former pupil, Lenny, a piano prodigy, mysteriously knocks at his door. The two men must confront the ghosts of their past, somewhere between musical harmony, erotic tension, and revelation.
Wanderer, echoing Schubert’s recurring theme, is a novel of rare delicacy, a twilight adagio, a Winterreise, and a subtle ode to German Romanticism.
Enjoy!

And now Dale’s number is up—the top brass knows. But instead of getting busted, Dale gets an offer. The mayor’s daughter is being held by Tat in his fortress built from an abandoned office tower. They want her back but if they storm the gates, Lauren is as good as dead. So they’re sending Dale on what could very likely be a suicide mission: infiltrate Tat’s fortress and bring her out alive.
If the Mayor even really wants her alive…
Floor by floor Dale and Lauren have to fight off an increasingly difficult and dangerous set of obstacles.
Meanwhile, Dale’s wife has her own troubles and some of the drug kingpin’s goons are only adding to an already rough day.

New York Times bestselling author of The Witch's Daughter Paula Brackston returns to her trademark blend of magic and romance guaranteed to enchant in The Little Shop of Found Things, the first book in a new continuing series.
An antique shop haunted by a ghost.
A silver treasure with an injustice in its story.
An adventure to the past she’ll never forget.
Xanthe and her mother Flora leave London behind for a fresh start, taking over an antique shop in the historic town of Marlborough. Xanthe has always had an affinity with some of the antiques she finds. When she touches them, she can sense something of the past they come from and the stories they hold. When she has an intense connection to a beautiful silver chatelaine she has to know more.
It is while she’s examining the chatelaine that she’s transported back to the seventeenth century where it has its origins. She discovers there is an injustice in its history. The spirit that inhabits her new home confronts her and charges her with saving her daughter’s life, threatening to take Flora’s if she fails.
While Xanthe fights to save the girl amid the turbulent days of 1605, she meets architect Samuel Appleby. He may be the person who can help her succeed. He may also be the reason she can’t bring herself to leave.

Happy New Year
Goodbye to 2018
Saying goodbye to 2018 is bittersweet for me, there have
been many ups and downs and some tragic losses both personal and people in the
news. My husband continues to struggle with his health issues but we also feel blessed
and thankful for all that we do have. I look forward to the new slate
feeling the new year brings and there are several things to be excited about in 2019 a banner year for me, I’ll be turning 65 and I will also be married 40
years and to celebrate those milestones my daughter and son-in-law are taking my
husband and I to Florida in May.
Whether you will be sorry to see this year end or can’t wait for that iconic ball to drop my wish for all of you is a safe and Happy New Year that brings good things to you and yours.
