Two For One Review Animal Magnetism and Animal Attraction by Jill Shalvis

Those who know me know I tend to take good reviews from blogger friends seriously and always put those reads on my wish list. That's how I came to get the audible books for the first two in Jill Shalvis's Animal Magnetism series, about a small Idaho town and the animal lovers who fall in love there. I gobbled up books 1 & 2 and can't wait to continue my stay in Sunshine Idaho.

Below are  the audible reviews of both book 1, Animal Magnetism and book 2, Animal Attraction
Enjoy!

Overview:
This alpha male is going to bring out her wild side…
Sunshine, Idaho, is a small and sunny town—the perfect home for man and beast. Well, maybe not for man, as pilot-for-hire Brady Miller discovers when his truck is rear-ended by what appears to be Noah’s Ark.
As the co-owner of the town’s only kennel, Lilah Young has good reason to be distracted behind the wheel—there are puppies, a piglet, and a duck in her Jeep. But, she doesn’t find it hard to focus on the sexy, gorgeous stranger she’s collided with.

Review
NYT bestseller Jill Shalvis is an author I’ve wanted to read so I picked up the audible edition of Animal Magnetism and am happy to say fell in love with the story, the characters and the narrator too which make reading number two in the series a must.
Set in the beautiful wilds of tiny fictional Sunshine Idaho Shalvis begins her Animal Magnetism series and hits a big awe factor by including, duh, animals! Her fast-paced narrative is a perfect mix of humor and drama, her premise is interesting and all her co-stars entertaining are but its definitely her kennel owning, commitment phobic heroine and ex-military, pilot for hire rolling stone hero and their sweet and hot love story that make this a must read.
Karen White flawlessly narrates the novel, articulating each character perfectly and brilliantly expressing each humorous, serious or emotional scene.
Shelter/Kennel owner Lilah Young needs roots and security that’s why she loves her small Sunshine community. While she’s transporting some barking/oinking and quacking “clients” she accidentally has a minor fender bender with a hot stranger. When she learns the hottie is a friend of friends and is staying for a while she’s tempted to give into her desire for him.
Years in the foster system made Brady Miller a rolling stone but there was one home and man in Idaho that changed him so when his two foster brothers send out an S.O.S. he has no choice but to answer their call. He’s pleasantly surprised by the sexy pet whisperer and wonders if she could be a distraction while he’s in town.
These two are about to learn just how powerful animal magnetism can be. But can it be permanent too?

Overview:
She’s tempting his basic instincts…
Sunshine, Idaho, is a quiet ranching town, a perfect place to give injured animals a refuge…or to find one yourself. Veterinarian Dell Connelly suspects there’s a reason his clinic’s uber-efficient receptionist has taken shelter here.
Jade Bennett couldn’t be happier to escape the big-city jungle to work with hurt animals, and have a forlorn stray kitten make its home under her desk…or enjoy the gorgeous views of her ruggedly sexy boss.

Review

#2 in Shalvis’ fantastic Sunshine Idaho series is sweet and spicy dealing with facing fears and abandonment issues. Her steady-paced narrative filled with humor and tears showcases the scenic rugged beauty of her Idahoan town and her eclectic/quirky co-stars both two and four legged. Watching her OCD, wary heroine with secrets and tough and gorgeous veterinarian with abandonment issues take that final fall was worth every bit of drama and every imaginary hit upside the head readers will want to inflict on this fabulous couple. Bring on book 3!
Karen White continues to rock this series with her purrrfect narration of both two legged and four legged characters. She gets all the emotions just right too!
Dell Connelly is an excellent pet doc and a serial dater stemming from commitment issues after being abandoned by his birth mom. He never met an animal he didn’t bond with or a woman he couldn’t talk out of her panties–– that is until a beautiful woman showed up looking for a job. She’s über-efficient, highly overqualified and definitely hiding something he hired her on the spot and is determined to uncover her secret(s).
After surviving a brutal attack Jade Bennett pointed her car west and didn’t stop until she reached Sunshine Idaho, nabbed a help wanted poster for a receptionist position for a veterinary practice and proceeded to hide in plain sight. The longer she stays the weaker her don’t touch signals become but she needs to stay strong because she can’t afford to let a certain sexy vet in.
