Thank You!

Today's authors are:

Kellie Coates Gilbert, Debra Clopton & Rachael Bloom

We’ve heard it said that friendship isn’t a big thing, it’s a million little things. We could not agree more, especially when friendship extends to include a special business partnership. The three of us are delighted to have been included in a fabulous boxed set of ten full-length novels with some of our best author friends. These authors are ones we love and admire, authors we personally read. We are even more thrilled to donate funds to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Kellie and Deb are mothers and Rachael will be holding her new baby within weeks. (Congratulations, Rachael!) We can only imagine how hard it is when your child is sick. We are so grateful St. Jude’s comes alongside parents in these tenuous times. Thank you for partnering with us by purchasing Once Upon a Friendship, which releases January 25.

ONCE UPON A FRIENDSHIP includes our stories:

Kellie: Mother of Pearl was my debut novel and will always be the novel of my heart. It was written after a dear friend of mine encountered something with her teen daughter…an event that completely rocked her world and moved her to embark on a journey of justice. I took a lot of fictional liberty writing this story but it is one that has touched a lot of hearts and prompted hundreds of reader emails. Grab your Kleenex…you’re going to need it when you read this highly-emotional story about the lengths a mother will go to protect her daughter’s reputation.

Here's a little bit more about my book:

MOTHER OF PEARL

Barrie Graeber has two great kids, a loving husband, and a respected job as the high school counselor in her close-knit community. Without warning, everything unravels when her teenage daughter, Pearl, is betrayed and lashes out.

Nothing prepares this mother for the helplessness that follows when her attempts to steer her daughter back on course fail, and Pearl shuts her out . . . or when Barrie discovers the unthinkable about her nemesis, the football coach.

Emotionally riveting and profoundly moving, MOTHER OF PEARL brings us into the heart of a mother bound by an incredible burden, who ultimately finds she must recognize her own vulnerability and learn to trust in something much bigger.

Debra: This collection of books is called Once Upon A Friendship and this title fits my books perfectly. I’m from a small town and owned a busy hair salon for 25 years and had a wonderful life full of fun, sweet and caring customers. And thus, all my series involve groups of friends helping each other through all kinds of situations and always with both touching and laughable moments.

My book in this collection is:

 Longing For Love,

from my Sunset Bay series it deals with a reclusive, famous male author who was once on the streets as a child but was taken in and adopted by a wonderful man who has now passed away. In the story Nash is trying to find his way back from the sorrow he feels and words for his books aren’t flowing. His agent sets him up in this small town hoping he may be inspired to write again. Erin, the owner of the inn is having her own problems but is relieved to have a paying customer for two months. Nash meets her and also will get to meet the fun-loving ladies who are in all of the Sunset Bay books, and you’ll get a laugh…or two out of their antics.

This is a book of love, friendship, and the value of both in our lives. And I love that it’s in this charitable collection to benefit the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Rachael:
The Whisper in Wind is set in the fictional town of Poppy Creek, where strangers become friends and friends become family. Growing up in a small town myself, I witnessed first-hand the importance of community, and I love creating strong bonds and unshakable friendships in my novels. There are many hard roads in this life, but God has given us the gift of others to walk alongside us. Sometimes it’s in person, through a handwritten note or online, and sometimes it’s even within the pages of a book.

Here's a little bit more about my book:

 THE WHISPER IN WIND

They’re polar opposites not looking for romance. But what will they do when it finds them?

Lucy Gardener is finally ready to settle down and stop job hopping. So, when her brother asks for her help to document the town’s quirky fall festivals for a promotional video for his inn, she’s up to the challenge. She was not, however, ready to share the task with a brooding former marine. And being attracted to the handsome grump is out of the question.

And yet… here she is…

Vick Johnson wants nothing to do with small town life. He has one last assignment, then he can put the close-knit community that has been a continual threat to his don’t-get-attached policy in his rearview mirror forever. He can’t let himself get distracted by his boss’s little sister despite her bright, alluring smile and magnetic optimism.

Too bad he’s failing miserably…

But if Lucy and Vick want to make it to happily ever after, they have bigger problems than they realize—and more than a few secrets between them. Can they overcome the overwhelming obstacles? Or will their love fade like a whisper in the wind?
