Nothing about this arrangement is convenient...
Jeremy Dillion—a.k.a. Knox—has no intention of succumbing to wedded bliss. Gag,
no. His parents divorced when he was young and the only stability in his life
comes from his bandmates. But now they’re finding their own forever
sweethearts, and Knox is feeling the heat of being a lone wolf in a group
effort. Still, an actual relationship? No. Ick.
Irina Carmichael is ready for her big break. The problem is no one takes a
second look at her, since she doesn’t fit into the general mold created for
Hollywood starlets. Her hips are too big, her nose is too sharp, and her lips
are too wide. But she’s so ready to step out of the background and into the
spotlight.
When Knox gets trashed in the tabloids, his publicist pitches the idea of an
image-saving marriage to Irina. Irina figures the publicity can't hurt and
accepts—until the offers for major roles start pouring in, and she doesn’t need
the arrangement. Unfortunately, Knox has broken the first rule of marrying an
actress for publicity: don’t fall in love. But can he handle a real
relationship? And is she ready to stop pretending?
Sophia Rose's Review:
Love sneaks up on a rock star on the rocks and movie star
needing a jump start to her career. This
series rocks all the fun, feels, and sizzling romance and I’m down for a friends
to lovers match up when marriage of convenience turns into something more.
Married to the Rockstar is the third of the Mile High Rocked
series of standalones that spin off the frolicking Mile High Roamnce
series. Newbies would be fine picking it
up, but I have enjoyed them in order through both series since the characters
from before pop in now and then.
Irina’s friend, Courtney, who has recently had a romance of
her own with a Dimefront rocker, nudges her toward Knox to help her with her
acting career. She’s friends with Jeremy
Dillion and he’s willing so what could be the harm in helping each other out.
Jeremy ‘Knox’ Dillion is feeling out of sorts that his
bandmates are each finding their forevers.
The band is successful and it needs to stay that way. So, when he gets bad press for being a player
and needs to clean up his image, it is determined that a romance will do the
trick.
Married to the Rockstar is light, fun and sexy, but it is
also full of friendship, family, and dealing with what it takes to have a
forever romance. Each book in the series
poses a different type of romance trope which makes me anticipate a new
situation even if all surround the rocker group of guys.
I loved both Irina and Jeremy. They are friends and that only gets better
when they start this marriage together.
In his formative years, Jeremy saw what a bad relationship could do and
it makes him gun-shy about committing to love or believing in it for himself. There is still family drama led by his mom,
in fact. Irina has struggled and worked
hard at her dream and doesn’t think she can have it all. They both hide the depth of their feelings,
but are so comfortable and supportive of each other. And, I loved seeing them communicate and
discuss expectations when they really commit to what they have together.
Like earlier books, I was tickled to see their friends come
to the rescue and be a strong part of the story particularly when the romance
was in jeopardy. I knew this pair didn’t
stand of chance when Babushka the matchmaking eccentric Russian grandmother got
involved. I enjoyed the antics along the
way that gave the lighter tone without heavy angst. It read quickly and easily and I loved the
big moment at the end, but the journey to it was fun, too.
All in all, these are entertaining, sexy, and satisfyingly
fun. Irina and Jeremy’s friendship and
romance hit the spot and I can’t wait for our last rocker to get his
story. Those who like light and funny
contemporary romance should give these a go.

Oh, this one sounds like a lot of fun. I've read some other "rock star" books (Nalini, Pippa Grant) and I've always enjoyed them.
ReplyDeleteI first discovered her books with her earlier series and then easily slipped right into her rockstar romances. Each one presents something different trope-wise, but all are fun. :)
DeleteSophia I like the book premise, I'm not usually into rockstar romance but I think I'll put this on my list. And she's a new to me author too:) thanks for the super review
ReplyDeleteYou'd love Babushka. If you can, start with her older Mile High series. :)
DeleteThis sounds like such a great romance. I really like the sound of these characters. I have a feeling that I would enjoy this one.
ReplyDeleteSo much fun, Carole! I loved these and the earlier Mile High Romance series. You'd love Babushka. :)
DeleteI have not read a rock star book in ages! Sad
ReplyDeleteLOL, same here. This series is my big return and they're more rockstar lite. :)
