Designed by Destiny is the first book in the brand-new series Fairy Godmothers, Incorporated.

After a painful break-up in university, Bethany Clarke has sworn off love to focus on her career. From her humble South Side beginnings to her position as an architect intern at a prestigious Chicago firm, she's proven to be a hard worker and is proud of her accomplishments. In three years, she’ll be a fully licensed architect which is more important to her than anything else.

Confirmed bachelor Nicholas Grey is more than the playboy perpetrated by the tabloids. Now his position as CEO of the architecture firm Grey & Company is on the line, and his mother’s interference is making things more difficult. Nick’s serious about his work, but, in order to be taken seriously, he needs to land a huge project. A stable personal life will help guarantee the contract.

Fairy Godmother Faye Delmore hears Nick’s plea and steps in to help. Posing as a publicist, she suggests a strategy to polish his public image, which includes convincing Beth to play his wife. Faye knows Nick needs the huge project to save his job, but she also knows he needs Beth in his life.

What happens when you add a fairy godmother who loves playing matchmaker into the equation? A future designed by destiny.

Enjoy a short excerpt from Designed by Destiny

“Last night was crazy. I didn’t mean for our ruse to go this far. But now that Kingsbury knows, we need to play it out a little longer.”

“What?” Her face contorted in anger. “You can’t be serious. I didn’t even want to pretend for the weekend and now you want me to put my life on hold indefinitely? Get real.”

“It’s our only choice.”

She snorted. “We could tell the truth.”

His eyes widened. “And then we’d lose the contract, and I’d lose my position.”

“Sounds like more of a you problem.”

“It is.” A cloud of desperation hovered over his head. Fuck it. At this point, he had nothing to lose. “Bethany, I need your help. Please.”

He could see her resolve weakening as she nibbled on her bottom lip.

“This is crazy, Nick. You know that, right?”

“The craziest.”

She shook her head.

“You’re saying no?”

“I’m not saying yes.”

“Then you’re not saying no?”

“Dammit, Nick. Has anyone told you how infuriating you are?”

He smiled. “Maybe once or twice.”

“Oi.” She shook her head rapidly like she was having an intense argument with herself.

“Bethany?” He interrupted her with a tad of trepidation. Time was of the essence. If she was going to say no, he needed time to think of a Plan B, preferably one that didn’t leave him unemployed.

“Beth.”

“What?”

She scrunched up her nose in an adorable way. “If this is going to work—and I can’t believe I’m saying this—I go by Beth.”

“Then we have a deal, Beth?”

“We have a… starting point. There are a lot of factors to consider.”
