Week Three Discussion of The Flight of Gemma Hardy Parts Four and Five
I can't believe the read is over. So let's talk about it.
Week Three
Parts Four and Five
Parts Four and Five
Wow this week’s parts were almost like a whole other novel. We learn more about Gemma and she learns more about Gemma too. Not only who she is but where she came from.
So let’s get started
So let’s get started
Why do you think Gemma ran away?
Who are the character stand outs in this part?
In a response from Margot in week two’s post she tells us
about her class discussion of Gemma and the difference between childhood perceptions
of right and wrong vs the adult perception. I think this part of the novel
really demonstrates that difference and Margot did a splendid job of
illustrating that.
What action(s) of Gemma most validated this to you as a reader.

Final thoughts
Now let’s do one of my most favorite things; advance the
story five years.
What’s happening with Gemma, Hugh, Nell and the rest.

Week two discussion of The Flight of Gemma Hardy- Part Three
The Flight of Gemma
Hardy
Week Two
Part Three
The Flight of Gemma Hardy
Wow a lot has changed for Gemma in this section of the novel as she continues her journey from child to young woman from single to engaged and not just to anyone but to a very important man in her community and her boss to boot.
So let’s talk about Part three
First have you changed your mind about your first thoughts?
Tell us about Gemma’s teaching method with Nell.
Why do you think it worked?
Why do you think it worked?
Characters in part three; who are stand outs to you and why?
Your first thoughts about Mr. Sinclair?
Did you see where Gemma and Hugh’s relationship was going?
I’ll come back later in the week for more topics.
And as always discuss what ever you want to, don’t limit yourself to my paltry questions.

The Flight of Gemma Hardy discussion - Mid Week question

I've been thinking a lot about the relationship between Gemma and her aunt.
Margot let us into Gemma's past a bit when she first came to live with her aunt and uncle
we don't know too much about their homelife when her uncle was living but we know how it is now.
Here's what I want you to think about; Knowing what you know now is Gemma's aunt the only villain or was Gemma some how at fault too?
