Full Blood by Donna Augustine Tantor Audio review

You all know I love Donna's paranormal/urban fantasy series and the Wyrd Blood series staring Bugs and Ryker are one of my favorites so today I'm reviewing the Tantor Audio review of Full Blood, book two. I've also included my print review.
Enjoy!

One monster wants my soul. One man wants my magic. Me? I want to be left alone to live my life out like a dull, one of the lucky people who were born devoid of magic. But that won't happen because being born a Wyrd Blood gives me two choices in life: ruler or slave.

I'd rather die than be a slave and I'm not cut out to rule. Instead I've been hiding out in the Valley. Life is pretty good here, with food in my belly and a warm bed to sleep. If I didn't get harassed constantly by Ryker, the man who wants my magic, it might be good enough to lull me into thinking life could continue on like this forever.

Until I get a message from Bones, the monster who owns my soul . . .

My Audio review:

Wyrd Bloo
The Wilds book 2

NARRATION:
Nicole Poole narration:
I’d forgotten just how good a Bugs, Nicole portrays showing her vulnerable side perfectly. Also she’s got the humor and somber emotions down pat too. Plus her male voices are really good and there is definition between the different characters a big boon for any narrator.
Book two in Augustine’s Wyrd Blood series picks up right where book one leaves off with a lot of questions, uncontrollable magic and fragile relationships. The focus turns more urban fantasy in this installation keeping a moderate pace moving a bit slower than book one as the author builds toward the finale, dropping critical hints and filling in some story blanks. Readers learn more about the stars Bugs and Ryker and get to know the secondary characters a bit better too while the tension increases and a possible new villain is introduced. Bugs really starts to mature in book two and her compassionate side also becomes more evident. Fans will leave knowing more than they did and wanting book three with a passion. Series must be read in order.

Series Recap:

It’s 910 AC-After the change when magic was unleashed on an unsuspecting world and forever changed it and not for the better. Bugs has been able to keep her ragtag pseudo family alive if not well in the Ruined City but lately something’s not right and they’ll all die unless she can get better so against her better wishes they all go to the country of Valley under Ryker’s protection.

SUMMARY:

Bugs and her crew from the Ruined City have been guests of Ryker, aka The Cursed King and leader of the country of Valley.  She needs his help to learn to control her magic if they’re ever to defeat their common enemy. Unfortunately their being in close proximity ignites a powerful but unwanted desire and she’d rather die a virgin than be just another of his playthings. But they’ll have to deal with their personal issues later, they’ve got bigger problems when their enemy, The Debt Collector is ready to call in all his marks and it’s her soul that’s on the line – worse, he’s not the only one out to get her.

  2. I love her Ollie Witt series it has been so much fun. I still need to read the last book but it's on my kindle, I just need to make time for it. I did try her Karma series and I liked the first book but didn't love it like I did her other. I will have to give this one a try as well though.

  5. What a beautiful book cover! I struggle with listening to audio books, because for some reason, I always end up falling asleep. However, the way you've described Nicole Poole's narration makes me think I should try her audio. Bugs sounds like a character that I'd enjoy reading about. I like the way that you describe the chemistry between her and The Cursed King, but how she would rather die a virgin than be another one of his playthings. She sounds like a strong character. I love that this mixes magic and steamy romance. Excellent Review Debbie!

  6. Well I may only read very few paranormal books but I see Nicole has narrated some other books and when I listened to a sample I have to say she is very easy on the ear. I'll keep her in mind.
