Brenda's holiday recipe:

 A Favorite Christmas Recipe
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas—at least here in southern Ontario. And since there’s snow on the ground, I thought I’d share a favorite family recipe for “snowball” cookies.
Biting into one of these never fails to remind me of Christmases past as they were always on the “goody tray” at my grandma’s house when we visited during the holidays.  I love them because they’re chewy and crunchy and sweet—but mostly because they’re super easy to make. (Also, they can be made in advance and frozen until needed, which is even more important this time of year when we all seem to have so many things to do and never enough time to do them!)

            Aunt Marge’s (Coconut Date) Snowballs

Ingredients:
1 cup chopped dates
3/4 cup sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups Rice Krispies cereal
1 cup flaked coconut

Directions:
1. Combine dates, sugar and eggs in 10-inch skillet.
2. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture pulls away from the sides
of the pan (about 5 minutes).
3. Remove from heat.
4. Stir in nuts and vanilla, then carefully stir in cereal and cool slightly.
5. Moisten hands in cold water and shape mixture into balls, about 1” in diameter.
6. Roll in coconut and place on baking sheet or tray.
7. Chill in the refrigerator to set.
ENJOY!

Wishing you a very happy holiday!

Maverick Christmas Surprise
by Brenda Harlen
Miniseries: Montana Mavericks: Six Brides for Six Brothers

Synopsis
A GIFT THE COWBOY DIDN’T EXPECT

The last thing Wilder Crawford expected was to find a baby on his doorstep on Christmas morning. His baby? Maybe—and he intends to find out! Little Cody’s aunt, Beth Ames, thinks the steadfastly single rancher isn’t daddy material. But her objections only make Wilder dig in his spurs. He invites Beth to stay for the holidays, never dreaming he might fall for the earnest schoolteacher. Unless Santa’s intent was to turn the cowboy into a family man all along…
