An impulse wedding…
Strong, sexy Nell Bravo won’t be fooled again. After all, Declan McGrath already shattered her heart into pieces—not once, but twice. When alluring CEO Deck sweeps Nell off her feet in Las Vegas, though, she tumbles headlong into an “only in Vegas” fling with her first love. But Nell sure didn’t bargain on a Vegas wedding!
…a lifetime of love?
It’s taken a long time for Deck to finally capture the one who got away. And this time, he’s charmed her straight to the altar. But Nell will stay married to him only until Christmas Day—unless Deck can prove that this time, it’s for keeps. With the clock ticking, can Deck convince Nell that he truly is her one and only…or has Mr. Love-’Em-and-Leave-’Em broken a Bravo’s heart for the last time?

Christine's Christmas Message:

DECKING THE HALLS…
Hi everyone!  So great to stop in for The Reading Frenzy’s Holiday bash.
Did you have a good Thanksgiving?  This year, my Thanksgiving was sweetly quiet.  Even peaceful.  My husband and I cooked a few dishes we’d been meaning to try, set a pretty table for two and toasted the season with a nice glass of bubbly.
The next day I dug back in on my work-in-progress, finishing on schedule December 1.  To reward myself, I decked the halls for the holidays.  I put on an endless loop of holiday music and got to work.  It’s a job I love.  Getting out all my holiday treasures every year brings the rich gift of memories.  So many Christmas pasts are there, in those plastic bins of red and green.
Treasures like years’ and years’ worth of handmade ornaments created by my children as they grew.  I love every one, each representing a time I once shared with them.  Treasures like the nesting Santas my husband brought me fifteen years ago.  I love those little guys.  Plus, they mean so much more because I know he’s not really into all the holiday decorating and the gift exchanging.  Still, he saw these Santas and knew that I would love them and brought them home to me.
But perhaps my favorite decoration of all time is…a bowl with a large pile of shiny red ornaments in it.  Always makes me smile.  Over the years, the bowl changes and I have to buy new shiny red balls because the old ones break or become faded with age.  Still, the bowl and red balls remind me of my younger days, before I had my children, before I even met my husband.  I was broke and had no money for a tree.  I bought a box of red glass ornaments and put them in a bowl on my coffee table—voilá, a little Christmas cheer for the financially challenged!

Do you decorate for the holidays?  Have a favorite Christmas decoration?  A holiday memory to share?  I would love to hear about your Christmas decorating traditions.

  1. Not much in the way of an actual decorating plan. I love unearthing the kids' homemade decorations--even if we don't still put them up it is fun to reminisce.

  3. Great memories post. I started getting lights and greenery up the day after Thanksgiving b/c the weather was so nice still, but the rest just happens a bit at a time. Fun about the bowl of ornaments. I still do that. :)

    Married Until Christmas sounds fun.

  4. There are some things I save from years past, and they usually go outside. I didn't do it this year, but I have a weird habit of getting Christmas trees that are different colors each year, then finding cool bulbs to decorate with. Thanks for sharing and Merry Christmas! Hugs...RO

  9. I just took out my Christmas decorations... I know it is very late. My favorite is decoration is an old nativity set that has been passed down in my family for three or four generations now. It is old but beautiful and rustic looking.

  10. We usually start decorating the beginning of December but this year we started having snow (the kind that will stick around till the spring!) in early November so the decorations started to make their appearance in Mid November!

Christine, I love your decorating idea for the financially challenged! It's nice to find ideas for cheering the house up for Christmas that doesn't cost a lot of money but still looks festive!

    1. Wow Anita, do you like snow? I do only if it snows on the grass and is melted by noon LOL

    2. Hehe Debbie, yes I do enjoy the snow since we have so much of it here in Canada! I have to love it or else I'll have to move somewhere warm and less snowy so I don't have to put up with it, LOL
