My Review:

Killman Creek
Rachel Caine

Boys and Girls if you thought book one was chilling get ready for one heck of a suspenseful thrill ride with book two, it’s filled with so many twists and turns that readers won’t know what hit them.  In book 2 readers find Gwen this reinvented woman, a vigilante by necessity who will go through anyone to protect her children a real star, but also in this installment Rachel gives more of a voice to the kids, Conner and Lannie and to Sam that gives readers a deeper insight into what makes these characters tick. And oh boy the bad guys are unbelievably degraded and their numbers grow exponentially in book two. All in all it’s one heck of an unexpected wild ride.
Narration:
The added narrators are fabulous it’s the perfect way to enjoy this book.
After learning her serial killer ex-husband successfully escaped from prison and that the hacker she thought was helping her was really selling her out Gwen Proctor leaves her children with trusted friends and she and Sam Cade take off to find her ex before he finds them. They didn’t count on a snuff film starring Gwen as her previous self Gina Royal to show up showing Gina helping her ex. Gwen knows they’re fake but Sam and the FBI friend whose helping them aren’t so sure that she’s innocent and wonders if she’s just that good of an actress and they’ve been played all along.
Connor has a secret, he knows it's a bad secret the bad guy who kidnapped him and his sister gave him a phone from his dad. He knows he should tell someone but he misses his dad so much that maybe he’ll risk just one call. Then his dad sends him a bad video of his mom and all at once his world turns upside down.
Lannie misses her friends especially her BFF and now that the nasty video has surfaced proving her mom is just as much of a monster as her dad she feels especially lonely with no one to turn to.
