GoodReads Blurb:
It’s only the first twenty-seven years of marriage that are hard.

Fact is funnier than fiction when romance author Cara Bristol gives us an inside peek into her own marriage and romance to “DH,” by sharing their private conversations. With snark and wit (and just a little spousal one-upmanship), they discuss the heavy issues of the day such as what to fix for dinner, the benefits of ice cream as a diet, which one of them got luckier when they got married, whether the president will get laid in White House on Inauguration Day, what they’ll do when they win the lottery, and squirrels.

The author recalls unforgettable moments during their courtship, including how DH asked her to marry him (spoiler alert: it was the least romantic proposal in the history of the world) and the time he almost shot her.

Their conversations are humorous and relatable to anyone who has ever had to live with a mate.

Sophia Rose's Review:

Marriage is tough and it takes work, but it is also a source of utter amusement.  A talented romance author invites her readers to giggle and chuckle over a series of conversations with her Dear Husband.  She guarantees it is relatable to anyone who has lived with a partner and it surely was.

I have been privy to several Facebook posts the author shared of funny conversations with her husband.  Having my own darling with whom I've found myself in similar straights, I got a kick out of their antics.

The conversations are all brief covering topics ranging from meals to chores, work to entertaining, movies to random thoughts.  And, in between, she shares the long and short of their first meeting and marriage proposal.  This snapshot into a couple's life is hilarious, but also gives insight into the staying power they have because they can share and laugh along the road of life together.

You're Not Ugly to Look At hit the spot and left me smiling and bemused.  Forget those serious tomes exploring the differences in the male and female mind, but rather enjoy the sometimes sly and sometimes goofball humor that is utterly relatable.  I do hope there are more conversations with DH to put a smile on my face and lighten the mood.
